Restoring Functionality
Not every malfunctioning lock requires total replacement. Where safe and appropriate, mechanical repair can restore a lock to proper working order. This involves dismantling the lock, inspecting the internal components, and rectifying the issue.
Common Repair Scenarios
- Sticking or stiff mechanisms caused by dirt, debris, or lack of lubrication.
- Misaligned strike plates causing the bolt to catch or fail to latch.
- Loose handles or spindle issues affecting the lock's operation.
- Slightly bent or misaligned internal components.
Assessment Over Assumption
We do not patch inherently broken security hardware. If a lock's structural integrity is compromised or internal parts are sheared off, repair is not a secure option, and replacement will be recommended. Our priority is ensuring the door remains a viable security barrier.
